POUCH OF SECRETS / HERBAL FOOTBATH POUCH
Leather has been used as material for traditional handicrafts in old time farm houses. Leather made from animal hide has been one of the popular materials. The timeless look of leather comes from the character of the surface, warm colour, clean natural smell and exceptional durability. Leather has been used for making different everyday artifacts, such as footwear, backpacks, clothing, pouches and animal harnesses.
The master shows how reindeer leather has been used for making different handicrafts. After the presentation, the guests make themselves a simple pouch of leather, taught by Irene. The pouch is filled with elements of earth, water, wind and fire that are made of original Lappish natural ingredients or herbs.
