Find out if you are afraid of bears! We will transport you with our knowledgeable guide to safely observe the native brown bear in their natural environment, close to the Russian border in Kuusamo. Embrace the classic Finnish pastime of getting closer to nature as you stay overnight in a cabin. The following day after breakfast we will visit Oulanka National Park to enjoy hiking and a Lappish campfire lunch.
Day 1: THE JOURNEY BEGINS
About 1,500 – 2,000 brown bears live in the vast forests of Finland. A mature male brown bear can weigh up to 300 kilograms. They will hunt other large animals, such as reindeer and moose. If you walk into the forests of Finland, it is almost impossible to encounter incidents with brown bears. Although they may also appear anywhere in mainland Finland, they usually avoid contact with humans at all costs. The virgin forests of eastern Finland are the best choice to meet them, and hunters and professionals will take you on a close look to the wild brown bears!
Day 2: BEAR WATCHING TOUR
These huge furry guys seem to be huge but also have their cuteness. During the activity, you can observe how the bears are eating through a wooden house in the forest, and during this time, they will likely capture other wonderful wild animals.
Of course, you don’t have to be afraid, the bear will never walk to the wooden house, and the bear will not notice the existence of the photographer, because the smell of the person will pass through the chimney of the wooden house to the air, and then be blown away by the wind, so In the bear-watching tour, photographers have the opportunity to get close to these majestic and curious animals!
After the second day of the bear-watching tour, the tour guide will take you to the most beautiful Forest Park in Lapland to experience the harvesting of forest berries such as wild mushrooms and blueberries, allowing you to experience a real Lappish picnic!
