In the middle of the tour, we take small breaks, where hot drinks and snacks will be provided. Hunting the Northern Lights from the absolute wilderness is a memorable experience here in Lapland. The stay is provided in a 3-star hotel or some other special accommodation on request.

Day 1 - Airport Pickup, Transfer to NUT office

Our guide will receive you at the airport and transfer you to the NUT safari office in the Rovaniemi city where you will get dressed in special adventure gear and receive the latest info about the Northern Lights and the holiday package. The accommodation will be organized in a 3* hotel or any other hotel on request.

Day 2 - Aurora Tour

Today we head to the complete wilderness far away from the city lights to experience the Aurora at its best. Explore More About Aurora in Finland:

Finland is on the southern rim of the auroral oval. The probability of seeing auroras is best in the northernmost part of the country, i.e. in Lapland. During geomagnetic storms, the auroral oval expands southward and then auroras are seen also in Central and Southern Finland.

In fact, the best times for viewing the Aurora Borealis are in the autumn and spring. The Northern Lights season in Finnish Lapland spans from mid-August until early April. Contrary to popular belief, the best times for spotting the Auroras are at the beginning and end of the season.

The best time for the Northern Lights is from October to March. Statistically, winterly spring and autumn are fantastic for seeing Auroras in Finland. When we take into consideration cloudiness and the best averages for clear skies, there is one month that is a winner: March.

The city of Rovaniemi is among the best places in Finland to see the Northern Lights. This natural wonder can be found here up to 150 times a year. You might have to walk a little way outside the city for the best view, but it can sometimes be seen even within its limits.
