Day 1 - HELSINKI

Helsinki Cathedral / Uspenski Cathedral / Kauppatori Market / Temppeliaukio Church / Sibelius-park / Train to Rovaniemi

Starting from the capital of Finland, Helsinki, let’s explore the city’s most well-known cathedrals, the Helsinki Cathedral and the Uspenski Cathedral, constructed in the 1800’s. The cathedrals were built when Finland was a part of Russia, and they have become the landmarks of Helsinki. Next, we will walk around the Kauppatori Market, offering everything from local produce to souvenirs. Kauppatori makes the city more vibrant. The last stop of our city tour will be the Sibelius Park. In the heart of the park sits the monument of Sibelius, a renowned Finnish composer who helped Finland to get the national identity. The park is situated at the waterfront of a large bay west of Helsinki with one of the best cafés in greater Helsinki. Lastly, You will take an overnight train to Rovaniemi.

Day 2 - ROVANIEMI

Visit Santa Claus Village / Meet Santa / Crossing the Arctic Circle / Santa’s post office visit / accommodation * twin room

Rovaniemi is the capital of Christmas spirit and the hometown of Santa Claus. Fulfill your childhood dreams of meeting the real Santa Claus in his Santa Claus village, located in the Arctic Circle. You will also receive a certificate for crossing the Arctic Circle and will become a true Arctic trekker!

Day 3 - WINTER LAND

Snowshoeing / Ice Fishing / Campfire barbecue lunch / Hunting Northern Lights Tour / accommodation * twin room

Since you have become a certified Arctic trekker, use your new skillsets with a snowshoe trek to walk through the forest. Snowshoes allow you to walk through deep snow without falling down. We continue our journey in the forest until we arrive at our ice fishing location. Depending on the time of year, the lake could be frozen 30cm underneath the surface. We will be using ice drills to access the unfrozen water. If you are lucky enough, you might be able to catch a fish. As the day starts to come to an end, you will settle down near a campfire and enjoy a barbeque dinner. Once the night comes, we will head to a place where you can see the aurora.

Ranua Wildlife Park is one of the most popular attractions in Lapland. Open every day, Ranua provides its Arctic animals with an ideal environment. The park has roughly 50 wild animal species and over 200 arctic animals, including polar bears. The day trip continues with a tour of the city. Let us visit the Northern Lights Church, the Rovaniemi Church, which is the largest church in Rovaniemi. Originally made of wood, it was burned down and reconstructed in 1950. The church remains a cornerstone of the city. The tour continues with the most scenic parts of the area before heading to the neighbouring towns in the following days.
