The formidable Sampo, an icebreaker that used to be deployed by the Finnish government, is now used for a unique cruising experience in the Bothnian Gulf. Join us for an experience on the open Arctic water, where steel and ice meet upon the sea. The drive to Kemi from your hotel will take about 90 minutes. You’ll board the Sampo in Kemi and receive the guidance when the ship cruises in the Bothnian Gulf. You will have a chance to use a floating rescue suit to float in the water then. A lunch of salmon or reindeer soup will also be provided.
When you get back to the port, we’ll take you to the Kemi Snowcastle, a snow fort rebuilt differently every year, covering more than 13,000 square meters with towers up to 20 meters in height, and launches new ice art exhibitions every year. Finally, we will drive you back to your hotel.
