Have you ever wanted to dig out some rare, hidden gemstones? Here is your chance!
In the Lampivaara Amethyst mine, you will get the tools and guidance you need to dig out your very own amethyst! Ride the snow-cat (a large treaded snow vehicle) up to the top of Lampivaara, where a beautiful view and the amethyst mine await you. Here you will use the tools of the trade, assisted by professionals, to dig for amethysts and then you get to bring one of them with you!

If you’re lucky, during ‘kaamos’ (the time when northern Finland has almost no light) you may even see Northern Lights in the middle of the day; and the top of Lampivaara is a great viewing location! After descending back down with the snow-cat, we’ll set up a fire to cook lunch and tea, and then drive you back to your hotel.
