This unique property is located in the Saariselkä Fell region of Finnish Lapland. It offers glass igloos and traditional wood chalets and has the world’s largest smoke sauna. Free WiFi and free parking are available. Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort - Igloos and Chalets offers 2 à la carte restaurants, which serve Laplandic specialities such as reindeer and char-grilled salmon. The hotel’s smoke sauna even has its own restaurant, Savusauna. The thermal glass igloos feature a bedroom with a glass roof and luxury beds. Some igloos include a bathroom with sauna, while others have shared shower facilities. The chalets feature cooking facilities, a seating area and fireplace. A private sauna is also included.

Glass Igloo

The igloos are 18 m² (2-4 Guests, extra bed available) and  include a toilet and shower.  Saunas and showers are available in separate buildings. Glass igloos are available to book all through the northern lights season, beginning from around the 20th of August until the end of April.

  • Kelo-glass igloo is 57 m² (up to 6 Guests). The newly Kelo-glass igloos combine the comforting warmth of our cozy log chalets with the sensational views of our world-famous glass igloo. Featuring a private sauna, fireplace, kitchenette and a bedroom with a stunning glass roof, they are made from Lapland’s unique Kelo pinewood.
  • Snow igloo accommodates 2 guests. The temperature inside is a consistent minus three to minus six, even if the mercury dips to minus 40 centigrade outside. We will provide everything you need for a cool, comfortable night in, such as a down sleeping bag.
  • Queen suite is 70 m² (up to 6 Guests).  This double room features  one large double bed, a hot tub, sauna, kitchenette and fireplace. Room facilities: Bath, Bathroom, Clothes rack, Desk, Dining area, Electric kettle, Fireplace, Hairdryer, Hardwood/Parquet floors, Heating, Kitchenware, Refrigerator, Sauna, Shower, Sofa, Toilet, Wardrobe/Closet.
  • Wedding chamber accommodates 2 guests. Earth lodges (kammi in Finnish) have been used as residences in Finland since ancient times. Their turf roofs conceal them in the landscape, as if forest trolls had built them. Wedding chambers are equipped with a sauna and a great bathroom with bathtub.
  • Log chalet accommodates up to 10 guests. They are made of impressively large kelo pines – trees that once stood dead and dried out -  and designed in a rugged style that fits perfectly with their wild surroundings. Fireplace and sauna in each chalet.
  • Traditional house accommodates 2 guests. In the almost century-old traditional house you can immerse yourself in the authentic Lapland lifestyle of old. The hectic, modern rat race will feel like a distant memory as you rock comfortably in the rocking chair. It features a sauna.
  • Sivakka chalet sleeps up to ten people, so there’s easily enough room for a larger family or team of colleagues. There’s a large living room, 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, a separate fireplace room and a sauna.
