Itinerary:

DAY 1: HELSINKI

Helsinki Cathedral / Uspenski Cathedral / Kauppatori Market / Temppeliaukio Church / Sibelius-park / Train to Rovaniemi.

Starting from the capital of Finland, Helsinki, let’s explore the city’s most well-known cathedrals, the Helsinki Cathedral and the Uspenski Cathedral, constructed in the 1800s. The cathedrals were built when Finland was a part of Russia, and they have become the landmarks of Helsinki.

Next, we will walk around the Kauppatori Market, offering everything from local produce to souvenirs. Kauppatori makes the city more vibrant.

The last stop of our city tour will be Sibelius Park. In the heart of the park sits the monument of Sibelius, a renowned Finnish composer who helped Finland to get the national identity. The park is situated at the waterfront of a large bay west of Helsinki with one of the best cafés in greater Helsinki. Lastly, you will take an overnight train to Rovaniemi.

DAY 2: ROVANIEMI

Visit Santa Claus Village / Meet Santa / Crossing the Arctic Circle / Santa’s post office visit/accommodation * twin room.

Rovaniemi is the capital of Christmas spirit and the hometown of Santa Claus. Fulfil your childhood dreams of meeting the real Santa Claus in his Santa Claus village, located in the Arctic Circle. You will also receive a certificate for crossing the Arctic Circle and will become a true Arctic trekker!

DAY 3: HIKING

Forest hiking/blueberries and mushrooms picking / Campfire barbecue lunch / Lakeside sauna experience / Midnight Sun Tour/accommodation * twin room

Although the Arctic is known for its harsh winter climate, it is full of green and flourishing forests during the summer. While hiking, we will be gathering berries and mushrooms. Handpicked directly from the forest, the berries and the mushrooms are the freshest. Eat them while you are picking them, or enjoy them with a barbecue lunch.

Once well-fed, we will head to the lakeside sauna to view the midnight sun. We all deserve a wonderful vacation in paradise.

DAY 4: REINDEER AND HUSKIES

Visit reindeer farm / Feeding reindeer / Visit the Huskies Farm / Northern Lights Church / City tour/accommodation * twin room

Rovaniemi is one of the largest cities in Europe, with most of the city being forestland. Within the forestland live many different animals and critters; most importantly, the reindeer and the Huskies.

The reindeer roam freely during the winter, and they return to their farms during the summer. The tourists visit the reindeer farms and the husky farms to meet and feed these animals.

The day trip continues with a tour of the city. Let us visit the Northern Lights Church, the Rovaniemi Church, which is the largest church in Rovaniemi.

Originally made of wood, it was burned down and reconstructed in 1950. The church remains a cornerstone of the city. The tour continues with the most scenic parts of the area before heading to the neighbouring towns in the following days.

DAY 5: AMETHYST MINE

Visit Luosto / Amethyst mine / Luosto hiking / Saariselkä / Gold Panning experience / Saariselkä top hill midnight sun view/accommodation * twin room

Arriving in Luosto, which has an ancient amethyst mine on top of the Lampivaara hill. The Lampivaara Amethyst Mine is possibly the only gemstone mine in the world that welcomes all visitors. The amethysts were formed 2000 million years ago and are ready to be dug up.

You will be given the proper equipment to dig for gems. Once you have gathered them, the mining continues with the summer gold rush! Our guides know the best locations for finding gold and will take you there. To extract the gold, you will be panning across deposits and trying your luck as a gold miner.
