For those who ache for the winter fairy tale land, Finnish Lapland is a dream come true! The quiet wilderness, the dreamy mystery of the Arctic Circle, and the reindeer running in the virgin forest… these are all important factors for a relaxing holiday.
In this great 5-day tour we offer you a great and unforgettable holiday, where you are going to explore the surroundings of the Arctic Circle, visit the Magical Santa Claus Village, try the traditional Lappish food, snow-shoeing, and much more!
You will be located in Pello, close to the famous Eeron Polku trail! You will be able to climb to the top of the mountain in snowshoes and watch the fantastic landscape view that only Lapland can offer. Visit the Arctic Circle in Pello. Experience the unique Northern Lights. Sense and experience the natural forces of the north, harness them as your resource, but be aware that Lapland’s magic
can take hold of you and soon you will be yearning to return!
Internationally, the Arctic Circle at Pello and the Arctic Circle village of Juoksenki are also known for the unique “Swim the Arctic Circle” event, an annual open-air competition held in the Tornio River in July.

Itinerary:
DAY1 – Arrival to Arctic Circle and Rovaniemi, Santa Claus Hometown
Pick up at Rovaniemi Airport / Train Station in Rovaniemi
(We offer a pick-up service at the airport, train station, or Hotel.)
– Get your winter clothes for 5 days
(We will offer you proper winter clothes for all of your stays!)
– Visit Santa Village
(Santa Claus Village is Lapland’s best-known attraction and a resort in its own right. Rovaniemi is the Official Hometown of Santa Claus, and the city’s most famous resident can be visited every day of the year in Santa Claus Village right on the Arctic Circle, an attraction that draws more than 500 000 annual visitors from all around the world.)
– Crossing the Arctic Circle and get the Certificate
(Crossing the magical line of Arctic Circle has been considered a great achievement already decades ago. Nowadays, it’s not only possible to cross the line but also to receive the original Arctic Circle Crossing Certificate.)
– Meet Santa Claus
(You will have a private meeting with Santa Claus itself in Santa Village)
– Visit a Traditional Husky Farm
(Meet up to 100 Alaskan huskies and their puppies at one of Lapland`s top husky homes. Learn all about these fascinating dogs and get the chance to cuddle up to some of them!)
– Husky Sleigh Ride
(Did you ever imagine yourself driving a husky dog sledge? Let´s drive you to the farm where the energetic huskies take you on a fast ride in the forest.)
– Northern Lights Hunting Tour with Campfire BBQ
(The Municipality of Pello is located in the picturesque Tornio River Valley in the western part of Finnish Lapland. The Arctic Circle runs through Pello: this being the case, thanks to its northern location, Pello is an outstanding place for viewing the Northern Lights. At the evening we will drive out of the city to the Arctic forest where there`s no light pollution and step up on the ice for a view over the trees of Aurora Borealis “Northern Lights”. We will do a Campfire and grill some sausages and warm Lappish tea.)
– End of the Day / Return to Accommodation in Pello
DAY 2 – Full Arctic Activities Day with Snowshoeing and Northern Lights
– Pick Up at Hotel / Accommodation
(We will pick you up at your accommodation and start our day!)
– Snowshoes Hike in Eeron Polku (Hill Top)
(Experience the serenity of Arctic nature on snowy trails in Lapland. We will take you to a Magical Forest; Eeron Polku, a path the has been built to honour the Olympic ski champion Eero Mäntyranta near his home village of Lankojärvi. Some of his many achievements are detailed along the trail. Follow his story by walking all the way to the peak of Pallistaja, where a breathtaking landscape and a campfire spot await you. The path is about 1.6 km long and located some 25 km outside of Pello in the direction of Rovaniemi.
– Barbecue Lunch at the top of the hill with a view
(A traditional Lappish BBQ will be provided in the top of the Mountain with an unforgettable view.)
– Northern Lights Hunt Tour with BBQ
(The blazing northern lights in the Lapland sky are an unforgettable experience for any traveller. So during this night, we will hunt them in the magical forest. Campfire, warm tea, and Lappish BBQ will be provided.)
– End of the Day / Return to Accommodation
DAY 3 – Winter Fishing and Ice Fishing in Pello in Lapland
– Pick Up at Hotel / Accommodation
– Visit an Arctic Frozen Lake
(Pello is the fishing capital of Finland all year round: the numerous lakes of Pello (like Lake Miekojärvi) and the Tornio River offers great fishing experiences even in winter.)
– Ice Fishing
(Are you ready to catch lunch the traditional way? You will be taught how to drill a hole in the ice and tactics that increase your chances of a catch. Once your guide has taught you the basics, you will get to relax in the silent wilderness.
A fire will be prepared for you on the bank of the river or lake so you can warm up, enjoy a drink and grill sausages.)
– Northern Lights Hunt Tour
(Another night, another chance to catch the beautiful northern lights, Campfire, warm Tea, and BBQ will be provided.)
– End of the Day / Return to Accommodation
DAY 4 – Visit the Reindeer Farm, and Northern Lights Tour sleigh pulled by Snowmobile
– Pick Up at Hotel / Accommodation
– Visit the traditional Reindeer Farm (The owners of the Reindeer Farm live with their reindeer throughout the year, and the reindeer provide their livelihood. At the Reindeer Farm, you will experience old and new reindeer husbandry culture working hand-in-hand. Also, you will touch and feed the Reindeers!)
– Lunch at the Hotel
– Northern Lights Tour on a sleigh pulled by Snowmobile (First we will drive out from the city lights to reach the area without light pollution. You will travel in a comfortable sleigh pulled by the guide’s snowmobile, covered by warm blankets to avoid getting cold. Given extra light by the white snow reflection, we follow the trails away from city lights and look for the spots to admire the sky. You can take photos during the journey and shortstops in nature.)
